New Iron Man 2 Trailer Has Enough High-Tech Gear To Make Your Head Spin [Iron Man]

At first it’s similar to the first one, but then the new Iron Man 2 trailer turns into a mess of new footage, battle suit armies, suitcase armor, and some hot chick firing a palm gun. Wowza!

You can hit up the Apple link for the trailer in its full HD glory, but be sure to come back here so we can talk about how amazing Ms. Johansson and all those slick battle suits look. [Apple via MTV]

Japanese Ringtone Promises to Clear Your Sinuses [Ringtones]

A company called Japan Ringing Tone Laboratory has created the “Hana Sukkiri Melody” ringtone, which claims to be able to clear out your sinuses whenever anybody calls you. Ah-whaaaa?

The company claims that “the ringtone will make a nose has resonant frequency with pollens adherent inside your nasal cavity, so eventually pollens fall down.” Oh, is that how things work? If so, why don’t people just play the tone over and over again into their nose to clear things up rather ..read more

Sony Vaio P Clone Can’t Compete with the Original [Clones]

So, the Sony Vaio P has a clone. Congrats, Sony! Too bad the mimicry ends with the aesthetics:

The appearance is spot on, but the insides are decidedly sub-par. The Atom processor is a less powerful than the processor offered in the Vaio P, and the memory maxes out at 1GB. If you’re comparing, that’s a full GB short of the original.

Since this is a clone however, the price is really the only area where one could say it “competes” with ..read more

The Force Will Protect 1GB of Your Data [USB]

These 1GB lightsaber flash drives may have been imported from Japan and they may light up when plugged in, but they still don’t feel quite right without some woosh-woosh-zzwoommm-zwing sound effects. Worth $20 without those? [ThinkGeek via Nerd Approved]

Sound Waves Being Used to Treat Strokes [Health]

Neurologists have built an ultrasound device which uses focused sound waves to destroy stroke-causing blood clots in brains. The procedure is non-invasive—requiring no drugs or surgery—and is already being tested on patients.

The machine and procedure allows doctors to “surround the head with an array of transducers that can focus ultrasound beams on a single spot in the brain without damaging the skull.” This means that diseased tissue could be destroyed without any collateral damage or risky surgery. At Least Office for Mac Has *Four* People Who Love It… [Microsoft]

So the preceding tweet from Office for Mac’s official Twitter account asked for Macworld attendees to swing by the Microsoft booth and say “I love Office for Mac,” but to an uninformed reader, that reads like something else entirely. [ChrisPhin]

We May Get Hulu On the iPad Yet [Rumor]

TechCrunch is reporting that an iPad-friendly version of Hulu is in the works, and may be ready in time for the tablet’s launch. Oh, sweet mercy, let it be true.

The bad news is that the rumor gets pretty vague “industry insider” sourcing. The good news is that the move would make perfect sense for Hulu, especially given that they’ve reportedly already had an iPhone app in the works for some time.

The barriers to entry for Hulu on the iPad aren’t ..read more

Motorola MOTOSPLIT Splits This Way, Splits That Way [Motosplit]

Motorola claims they’re coming out with a couple dozen Android phones in 2010, and with a crop so big a few of them are bound to be pretty weird. This render suggests that the MOTOSPLIT might be one of those.

Like the Samsung Alias 2 before it, the MOTOSPLIT shown here sports a keyboard that has tiny touch screens for keys, though this one has the unique ability to slide out in landscape or portrait orientation. Depending on the way its ..read more
